Description

Our painting shows a young Spahi, standing proudly in his elaborate dark-green uniform lined with red silk. One hand rests on his hip, the white of his embroidered shirt contrasting with his ebony-toned skin. Around his waist he wears a silk sash and on his head a black plumed red fez. In the distance below and behind him the desert landscapes stretches towards the sea, with low hills across the bay.
