(Vilhelm Hammershøi)

Description

Literature: Michaëlis & Bramsen, no 119 (catalogue raisonné): “From Fredericksholm Canal – Misty November Day – The Canal – with three bridges, of which Marmor Bridge is in the foreground lies aslant the opicture, from left to right. The trees on Christianhavn’s Rampart are seen dimly in the background. On Slotsholm lies the Staldmestergaarden (the Stablemaster’s Yard) to the left, and – almost in the center – is the old Materalgaard with its mighty roof. Painted from the apartment of Alfred Bramsen on the corner of Stormgade, at the same time as the picture of the Castle”; Paul Vad, Hammershøi, Copenhagen, 1988, p. 72, illustrated plate 39.
